Tucson Doula Expert
Bringing home your new infant can be a challenging experience. Frequently new parents suffer from sleep deprivation and the stress of adjusting to their changed roles. A postpartum doula is trained to guide new parents along the journey of early parenthood. I am passionate about helping you to create the best beginning for your new infant and the closest bond possible between your newborn and yourselves.
If you chose to breastfeed your baby I am trained as a lactation counselor to help facilitate breastfeeding. Should you experience problems with starting to breastfeeding, I can help you overcome them. If you prefer to bottle feed, I can provide information on bottle types and other bottle feeding issues such as techniques for getting the gas out of your baby.
While each baby develops at his or her own pace, I can teach you about infant development and inform you of the milestones you should be looking for as your infant grows. In addition, I can give advice on establishing good sleep patterns, avoiding colic, and stimulating your baby’s brain so that it can reach its fullest potential.
I offer practical advice with the goal of making new parenting as easy as possible. However, in the event that circumstances become overwhelming, I am trained in recognizing the signs of anxiety and postpartum depression and assisting new mothers and fathers who are experiencing them to recover their equilibrium.
